Description

This is basically a rework of my „The Burning Cross“ Image. It includes a lot more data from the same night and I completely reworked it from the scratch with dedication to High Resolution and much higher Quality. I hope that it was worth the work. At least I was able to pull out a lot details in the milky way and this made me curious what objects were brought to light by myself and so I started to annotate them. It´s by no means a scientific work but it was a good way to learn more about our home Galaxy.

About the Image: The Summer Milky way Arch shot on a mountain top in Eastern Austria (1780m above sealevel, bortlecalls 3, to the left the lights of the Vienna Basin). Approximately 200 subs (44 panels) stacked with Astro Pixel Processor stitched with PTGui Pro and blended with Photoshop. I shot the Rho Ophichius Region long before starting the pano when the moon was still out. Then I shot the whole pano and I shot the regions of more interests again after finishing the pano Panels.
The foreground shots were also taken in the complete dark with the same Setup and the crucial parts are Focus stacked.
This is a downsized Version. However I will upload some higher Resolution crops as revisions.

Unfortunately some parts of my cam (the right side) has some coma. I tried to avoid these areas while stitching, however as I used nearly all data for this image I could not avoid it everywhere. This is definitely a field to look at next time!

P.S.: I have read the etiquette concerning new image vs. revision, but as there is a lot of new data in it, it should meet the guidelines for a new image. For me personally it is a totally different thing resolution and quality wise.
It is also a pity that the revisions are not viewable in higher resolution. Planned to put the not annotated version as final revision and show the annotated version while hovering with the mouse, but that does not work. Would be also nice to have both versions in high resolution. This should be no critics as I really love the site, but it would be a nice feature. If I want to present both versions in higher resolution I would have to post it as new image again.
